Play Her Way
Girls Football & Wellbeing Workshops for Secondary Schools
Re-framing Football for Teenage Girls
Many girls begin to disengage from sport during the secondary school years. Confidence drops, social pressures increase and participation often declines - even among girls who previously enjoyed playing.
Re-framing football for teenage girls
Delivered by Footbellas co-founders Bekki Orlando and Rachel Payton, Play Her Way supports secondary schools in keeping KS3 and KS4 girls engaged in football and physical activity during the teenage years. We offer one-off workshops as well as longer-term weekly programmes, giving schools flexibility to choose what best fits their students and timetable.
A different approach
We shine a different light on football - through Play Her Way, we remove pressure, comparison and fear of judgement, creating an environment where girls feel confident and comfortable taking part. The focus is on enjoyment, inclusion and self-expression rather than performance or competition.
Designed with schools in mind
We run Play Her Way in schools as both standalone workshops and multi-week programmes, adapting each to suit your students and available space.
The programme is suitable for:
KS3 and KS4 girls
Mixed-confidence groups
Girls who may not usually engage in PE
Schools looking to support wellbeing alongside physical activity
We often work with schools across multiple sessions to engage whole year groups.
Delivered by us
All Play Her Way sessions - whether workshops or weekly programmes - are led by Footbellas co-founders Bekki Orlando and Rachel Payton.
With extensive experience working with girls across schools and football clubs, we create supportive, pressure-free sessions where girls can explore football in their own way.
